Choose a survey type
Every survey you create is one of four types, picked when you start it. This page compares the four so you can choose the right one, then links to the page that covers it in full.

What actually changes between types
Every type can use the same question types — the same 7 on free, up to all 13 on Pro — arranged in any order you like. The type doesn't restrict which questions you can ask; it controls three other things:
- Which sections show up in the editor. Every type except Quick Vote gets a Skip Logic section. Only Knowledge Quiz and Personality Test get a Results section. Quick Vote gets neither.
- What happens with the answers. Knowledge Quiz marks each one correct or incorrect and can run a countdown timer. Personality Test lets you weight each answer option toward a result. Quick Vote can show respondents the current vote tally on its Closing screen instead of a plain thank-you.
- Survey and Quick Vote have no scoring or weighting mechanism at all — every answer is recorded as-is, with nothing added up or classified.
So the type mainly decides what respondents see at the end and whether their answers get scored, not what you can ask them along the way.
The one-question cap applies to all four
Free doesn't only cap Survey at one question — it caps every type, Quick Vote included, and that one question has to use one of the seven free question types. A survey needs Pro the moment either of these is true: it has more than one question, or its single question uses a Pro-only type (contact info, opinion scale, rating, date, file upload, or matrix/Likert). Quick Vote's normal shape is a single question anyway, so it's the one type free covers without any compromise.
